Erin is a registered psychologist who employs a motivational, and strengths based approach that is guided by the principals of positive psychology and mindfulness philosophy.
Erin works from the evidence based idea that having a strong therapeutic bond and relationship is one of the main factors for achieving positive change in her clients lives. Whether it’s online or in-person, Erin aims to create an inclusive, compassionate and relaxed session space that makes you feel at-ease, safe and heard.
Erin believes that to achieve this, authenticity in session is key and that where appropriate, bringing a sense of humour to the therapy space is a must.
-
Erin completed her undergraduate training at Swinburne University and her postgraduate training at The Cairnmillar Institute in Melbourne. She is not tied to any one therapeutic modality or style but instead taps into a range of evidence-based approaches, including positive psychology, mindfulness therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, psychoeducation, counselling, and relationship counselling; as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy; The Gottman Method Level 1 + 2 (relationship counselling) informed practice and non-directive pregnancy support counselling.
Erin has been working within private practice for the last 4 years, and has previous experience in online mental health and wellbeing services, youth mental health supports, risk assessment, educational and developmental psychology, cognitive, educational and psychological assessment, student wellbeing and support, women’s wellbeing, workshop facilitation and podcast hosting.
-
Erin is interested in working with individuals who are up for getting curious about themselves and their world, who are looking to develop their self compassion and mindful mindset and those who are wanting to work on cultivating change in their lives.
Erin recently completed her basic Schema Therapy training and will be integrating this approach into her practice.
In June 2024 Erin completed further training in ADHD assessment and intervention. This has helped shaped Erin's treatment approach in working with clients who experience Neurodivergence.
Erin will also be expanding her knowledge around mental health, pregnancy and navigating the post partum period; as well as eating disordered behaviours.
Finally, Erin hopes to complete more somatic based training and practices and is working on therapy dog training with Gus the Groodle. As soon as he's ready for action Erin will let you all know!

Erin is a mum of one, so is very much in the thick raising a little fam, which means focussing on trying to prioritise time and making the most of the little moments, like slow mornings with her little one, family walk and talks, getting nostalgic over 90s rnb, and flexing her digital creative muscle.
Erin and her family have also recently made a sea change and moved down to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
This is why Erin session blocks her In Person sessions to particular days of the week.

Non-directive pregnancy support counselling is available to any person who is currently pregnant or who has been pregnant in the preceding 12 months, by an eligible psychologist, where the patient is referred to the psychologist by a medical practitioner (including a GP).
The service may be used to address any pregnancy related issues for which non-directive counselling is appropriate.
What is non directive counselling?
It’s a form of counselling based on the understanding that, in many situations, people can resolve their own problems without being provided with a solution by the counsellor, instead the counselling focuses on addressing all pregnancy-related issues where a non-directive counselling approach is appropriate; and it involves undertaking a safe, confidential process that helps clients explore concerns they have about a pregnancy. This includes providing unbiased, evidence-based information about all options and services available to the client.
-
EGP offers 60 minute couples counselling sessions.
Erin is trained in the Gottman Method Level One and Two. The Gottman Method provides research and evidence based support and tools for couples.
Sessions can be used to work through a current conflict or issue, tackle perpetual problems or address upcoming life decisions and choices.
They can also be used to enhance our communication, support the relationship through life transitions and build a more secure foundation for the couple.
